The simplified make up bag. For a makeup junkie like myself my makeup bag is usually bursting at all seams. Often containing around 5 different foundations, a selection of blushes, eyelashes and nearly a makeup counters worth of lip products... Literally!
Therefore below is what I would describe as minimal makeup, containing one foundation, a blush, bronzer, eyeliner, eye shadow, powder, concealer, mascara, brown set, under eye concealer 3 brushes and one lip product, yes you read that right one! I think I've done a pretty good job at compacting everything. Whats more is that this will see me through from day to night!
For my most recent everyday makeup I have been applying my balance me moisturiser and my usual Facefinity under my eyes which is now decanted into a smaller pot.
For foundation I have chosen to use the Maybelline Fit Me, which i have been loving, it contains a hefty SPF of 18, and is a sheer light coverage while still offering a good amount of colour. I've been skipping out on blusher, bronzer and concealer. Just setting my foundation with the usual ponds oil control powder.
For eyebrows I've been running MUA's clear mascara through them as a brow set and curling my lashes then using L'Oreals Telescopic Explosion Mascara.
Lastly I apply my clarins lip pefector and I'm good to go!
To take this from day to night, I will use MAC Omega to fill in my brows and lightly in the crease of my eye to add slight definition. I will also use Maybellines Gel eyeliner to create a cat flick.
Most times I will contour my face with NYC's bronzer in sunny and apply my Dainty Doll blush in 002 My Girl which also doubles as a subtle highlighter. To give my skin that flawless look I will use Collections Lasting Perfection Concealer on any blemishes before I apply foundation.
The most exciting thing to me is that I now only use 3 brushes! The elf powder brush is used for my foundation and powder, I use the real techniques blush brush for blusher and bronzer and a small angle slanted brush for my brows and gel eyeliner. This works fine for me as long as I do my eyebrows before the liner!
I have been loving going lighter with my makeup and think it makes a nice change for summer! The foundation containing SPF is a great benefit and wearing less means you don't have to worry about foundation melting off your face!
