The best of... MUA

MUA first hit super drug stores in 2011.
Ever since they have created a storm expanding their product range massively while still remaining affordable!
Over the years I have accumulated a selection of my products and picked my 3 favourites!

Two of these are from the £1 collection and probably the first two products that I ever purchased! the third is from a newer collection called Undress your skin.

Undress your skin highlighting powder - I have always been picky with highlighters and feel like all offered on the current market are bleh to put it frankly. I purchased this purely because it looked pretty in the packing and was pleasantly surprised. The powder is pinkish however a blue incandescent shimmer runs through it. The powder is finely milled and  when applied correctly completely  undetectable on this skin!

Eye shadow - Shade 11 - All the MUA eye shadows deserve a mention, the texture is creamy and pigmentation second to none! Not only do they offer a huge selection of shades but each shadow contains 2g for the steal of £1. My favourite shade is 11. Its a warm shimmery brown, blended out you can wear this all over and underneath the eye or in the crease.

Lipstick - Shade 4 - This lipstick is a HG product. A bubble gum pink that is moisturising and sheer, what more could you ask for? I have mentioned it a million times and I fall in love with it more every time I use it. It's a lipstick that you don't need to think about and can apply it in a rush knowing that it looks good. I like all of the MUA lip sticks and have only come across one that found itself straight in the bin due to the shade and chalkiness.

If you have not yet checked out MUA I recommend that you do! I am currently loving their dupes of the Clinique chubby sticks!

New things

I think I'm deserving of a pat on the back, and managed to keep the money spent on makeup to a minimum the past month... woohoo.
Despite that however I  have brought some, oopsy.

I recently discovered and outlet makeup store near where I live and popped in for a little look, and found some real gems. The first brand that drew my attention was the Maybelline MNY, I had never seen this diffusion line from Maybelline before, from it picked up 3 eye shadows, in the shades 537, 149A and 209 2 shimmer one matte and all look perfectly mused when use together on the lid. There is not much else to say they were £1.50 and pigmentation/staying power is average. Also I picked out a lip gloss which I'm hoping they still have in stock when I go back so I can stock up. It's a violety purple colour and applies clear with an incandescent lilac shimmer.

The shops lash product selection was amazing and i cam away with three...
-Maybellines Great Lash, everyone and their aunt has this so I figured I'd try it. It's not brilliant but I don't hate it.
- L'Oreals lash serum, which i believe is discontinued. I cam currently testing this product for a whole post of it's own but a thumbs up so far :)
- L'oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara (picture of the wand below) This is undoubtedly the gem find for me and I need to get back ups urgently. I like long fanned lashes and nothing does it better than this, except benefits bad gal haha. I'm also not the greatest fan of water mascaras and usually like a mascara best when it's a dry as anything. Although this mascara is wet it gives the effect that a dry mascara does which I loooove.

In addition I treated myself to a maybelline dream bouncy blush, I have the shade 30 candy coral. I am on the fence with this and cannot make up my mind if I love or hate it. I am considering getting a colour which is more 'me' to see if that will help me make up my very indecisive mind!

I'm tagging on a mini favourites to the end of this post and here they are!

- MAC Omega. I was fed up of mixing many different browns together to get a reasonably ashy brown colour for my brows, so while storming around duty free at Gatwick I grabbed MAC omega which is doing perfectly at filling in a defining while still looking natural.

Keeping on the MAC theme I did a swap with a friend and a press pigment came my way. It's the colour flicker and is not for everyone! It's extremely glittery and the best way to describe is is the way Eleanor did in my primary ballet class as 'fairy glitter' it gets everywhere and using this without a sticky base underneath will leave you as a glittery mess.

Jumping back to the lower end spectrum of makeup is MUA's undress your skin shimmer highlighter. I've been dying to get my hand on this since it's release but only manged to find cracked ones in the shop *sigh
Yet again for MUA the price point is right on at £3.
The product is a pink toned power with a large blue undertone which is perfect for my skin tone. It is not an obvious high light and I have also been using it as a eye shadow as well which is equally as beautiful.

That rounds things up for today's post, Alanya xxxx
