Dainty Doll Review.

Dainty Doll is Nicola Roberts makeup line from Girls Aloud. Aimed at those with paler skin tones like herself I felt that it was a very over looked line and struggled to find blogs reviewing the products. Hence why I purchased 5 products to give a brief overview and summary of the collection.

Before I get into things here's a stock list

The first product retails around the £13 mark. This blush is beautiful. I usually prefer a matte blush and then add a highlight, however not in this case.

It is so finely milled and smooth to apply, the pigmentation is also amazing and the tiniest amount goes a very long way. I have the colour 002 My Girl. This particular shade has a blue undertone which looks great on my skin tone.
In addition a reoccurring trend through the Dainty Doll collection is the packing and is comparable to MAC in quality. Packaged sleekly in strong matte black plastic.
The blush comes with a mirror and contains a generous 7g of product.

The next product is an eye shadow base. The colour is 001 however it is the only one offered in the collection. I was a bit scared when I first saw the colour and applied the rather chalky cream to my lids however it's come out a winner. The formulation is designed to intensify the colour of your eye shadow and it does this well as well as keeping it crease free and in place. You can expect to pay around £10 for this product.
Packing wise it's still lovely although I would love it to have a mirror.

The second eye product is a shadow in  002 Treat her like a lady.
Although this is a neutral shade I have never seen another quite like it. My best attempt at describing it is a neutral toned stone with a light silver shimmer and a slight purple undertone. Much like the powder blush it is very finely milled being extremely smooth. The pigmentation of the shadow isn't fantastic falling into an average category. I have been wearing this shadow every day for the past week which is a statement considering eye shadow generally only hits my lids about once a month.

Yet another outstanding product, this lip stick is in the colour 006 Baby Love. I was expecting to hate this, I have yet to find a nude that doesn't make me look dead.
Not only is the formulation and packaging which is metal perfection but the colour is just divine, I can't put my finger on why but it's gorgeous, if you struggle to find a decent nude lipstick I would recommend this and for £12 it's 100% worth it.

Wonderbalm is the most expensive products in the Dainty Doll range at £21.50. It essentially is a balm which can be used anywhere to give a deep moisturisation. yet again a thumbs up for the packaging and you also get a huge 19g with this which is a lot more than I was expecting. So far I have been using this on my lips, elbows, cuticles and in the ends of my hair. All of which it's done a great job of replenishing. As you cans see from the photo below, it's pink with a slight gold shimmer however this does not transfer when used and is clear. Nicola Roberts recommends using this as a highlight on the cheeks, I would not dare but it would work perfectly for someone with dry skin.

I cannot recommend Dainty Doll products enough, and I'm unsure as to why they are not spoken about more in the beauty community as they are truly fantastic! The packaging is spot on and the colours in the range are spot on, although limited. Despite the line being targeted at those with a paler skin tone these products will work with any skin tone. The range also offers cream blushers, eyeliners, mascara, lip glosses, foundations and powders. Although the price point is reasonably high I think the quality of the products reflect this and they can also be found on sites such as fragrance direct and eBay for huge reductions. Furthermore the range does not test on animals and boats all the products containing antioxidants, vitamins and moisturising qualities!

All products have earned them self a respectful place in my every day makeup bag for the time being :)
